Kava Gator is easily my favorite spot in town. Every time I come in, the staff is welcoming, attentive, and happy to help you find something you’ll love. Their selection of drinks and food is incredible, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating so you can actually settle in - perfect for staying awhile. The atmosphere is honestly what keeps me coming back: relaxed, positive, and the ideal place to spend time with friends or get focused for exams. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend!!

Definitely one of my favourite cafe spots to hang in Gainesville. The owner is super kind and friendly, customer service is exceptional. Mack hits the spot with his iced lattes. The vibes are positive and a good place to socialise and make connections.

Kava Gator is such a wonderful place in downtown Gainesville,Fl! The craftsman ship of the drinks as well as the kindness and hospitality of all the kavatenders/baristas and the owner are always amazing! They take care of their guests!

I have to give this a five star not only the outdoors vibes with umbrellas great spot to take pictures and relax but my favorite turkey cheese sandwich was mainly fresh and they refreshers are amazing. Very friendly and will be visiting again.

Kava Gator is a standout gem in downtown Gainesville, FL, blending cozy coffee shop vibes with relaxing kava and kratom options—ideal for sober socializing, studying, or unwinding. Located in Bo Diddley Plaza, it offers excellent coffee, teas, top-quality kava/kratom drinks, and fresh Uppercrust baked goods like bagels and pastries. Open late (until 11 PM daily), the spacious spot draws a diverse crowd of locals and UF students. Owner Julia shines with her warmth, knowledge, and passion—she patiently explains options to newcomers and fosters a welcoming, community-focused, and relaxing atmosphere. Exceptional service make it a must-visit. 5 stars! Thanks, Julia!

Reilly, she's amazing!!! Love the atmosphere too!. I would like to see how it feels with the garage door windows open some day@?... She made me a special sandwich per my no dairy needs, and was very attentive!!!

after scuba diving me and my dive buddy wandered into Gainesville and saw this cute little café. I ordered a pot of Earl Grey tea and was served an excellent set up by Mack. so delicious. After the tea, Mac treated us to a little bit of amateur cartography, giving us places to check out while we were in town. Coffee Tea Cava Kratom This is the spot and I'm gonna be back. They also have the cutest logo ever.
